“During your employment you will be able to participate in certain company benefitsupon completion of service requirements. These benefits include: medical insurance, 401k, paid time off, and an employee assistance program. Further information reguarding these benefits will be furnished for you at the start of your employment” She sent that out about a month after I started…she said 2-3 months before health kicks in…now she says 1 year…I am on Salary. I live in NYC and we do that Paychex HR thing. And I am VP of Sales. Is a year normal…or is it b/c they know my wife has cancer?

Many companies are different when it comes to fringe benefits. Few companies will give you health insurance on your date of hire, were most will give you a 30 – 90 day waiting period. Now you said you was VP, I would think they would give you special treatment. That would make me wonder.
You are a VP of sales and your policy doesn’t kick in for a year????????? You are being taken for a ride guy, at that level, one month is the longest it should be!!!!! My brother is a VP of reseach and development at Basic American Foods in Idaho Falls and his health plan started the same day as he started work.
