HR needs to have a strategic role in the business because the recruitment and retention of good candidates is becoming every more competitive and difficult.
50 years ago many people worked for the same company for their entire life. Today that does not occur very often. Attracting and retaining the right work force is an operational not an administrative function, and HR departments that don’t evolve will cost their company in the long term.
