How Do I File A Grievance Against My Boss?

Hi everyone, I’m not sure a “grievance” is exactly what I’m looking for.
Here’s the story. I’m the Communications director and answer only to CEO of the company and there is no in-house HR department. I often have meetings and conversations with my boss and he consistently forgets the details of our meetings/discussions. For instance I had a conversation with him over the phone yesterday and today he calls me into his office and misconstrues the details of our previous conversation, basically calling me a liar. I clearly remember every detail of the call and once again he refuses to believe what I’m saying. He is ALWAYS doing this and I’ve had enough! Should I write some kind of letter to him as an official “statement” or “complaint” stating the facts of our conversation and what had occurred?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Assume you are an HR director with a staff of seven people. A departmental objective is for all staff members to become professionally certified within a year. Identify six to eight certifications that could be obtained by your staff members, showing me the following details from each certifications:
Name of sponsoring organization
Names and types of certification
Addresses for relevant Websites containing more information
Experience and education requirements
Nature of certification process

Why is it so difficult for some people – even apparently educated people – to work out when to use “less” and when “fewer”, when they still seem to able to decide whether to ask “how much?” or “how many?”, and the two are analogous?
Why would a respected company like Apple announce that it has had “less than 25 reports” of a virus on iPods?
Why would the BBC, which should be a custodian of our language, refer to there being “less birds” at a Kenyan flamingo lake, or (ironically in an article about writing standards) refer to “less than half of schools”?
Why did the HR director of Norwich Union say they needed “less people to take calls”?
Why do I have to shout “FEWER!!” at the radio almost every day?

“bonus” Pay For Exempt Employees Over 40 Hours?

our company correctly classifies employees as “exempt” or “non exempt.” However, they have all employees use the punch clock ( I know this is wrong) and exempt employees who work over 40 hours are given regular rate of pay (not time and a half) as a “bonus”, not as salary. I am being promoted to HR director, is this OK to do? It doesn’t seem like it would be.

Should I Call Them?

i’ve been waiting 2 weeks to hear back from a job that i went on an interview for. i had been corresponding with 3 people (Corporate HR, HR Assistant and the VP). I sent the HR Assistant (who had initially called me and who i met with first) a thank you email after the interview and a follow up email today, just inquiring if they had made any decisions. someone from the company called me back this afternoon, but i missed the call. they did not leave a message. should i call them back or wait to see if they will call again. i don’t want to be too pushy or annoying because i’d really like the job. if i call back, i wouldn’t know who exactly to call because i don’t know who called me (the number that showed up was the main line). what to do?

Should I continue being a manager or should I try to find something even more in the human resources field. I make 10.10 an hour.

How Can I Act As Human Resources Manager?

Best go on the job sites and find the HR roles. You should, sooner or later, usually with the big corporates and local government, find some more detailed job descriptions which will spell out the qualifications they are looking for, the personal characteristics they would like, and the sort of experience you will need.
Good luck
