My university suggested I switch from a “Business Administration” degree with a focus on Human Resources to a “Technical Management” degree with a focus on Human Resources because the Tech Management degree track makes better use of my transfer credits from another college (enough so that I will graduate 2 semesters sooner). However, the woman I spoke to could not explain to me what the difference was between the two degrees, and the university website is somewhat vague. Perhaps there is a Technical Management major out there who could explain it to me?

When I applied through official GTTR website in December 07 i had limited experience. Since January I have been working as a Teaching Assistant in various schools. For some crazy reason the GTTR won’t let you update your details. Currently retaking my GCSE Maths on Evening course (result expected June 08), Science D (current grade)
Do i have any chance of securing a place at a Uni, if so which ones?
Is my 8 years of work experience in HR/Management worth nothing to these Uni’s?

All I can find on the internet are these stupid MLM’s or companies where I have to “invest” to start working (data entry, typing, medical transcription, envelope stuffing, internet surveys, etc.) I am an excellent typist, have over 10 years of Admin/HR/Management experience but want to stay at home with my infant son while I’m working. I’ve been told that there are legitimate corporations that look for people to work from home, but I haven’t found any. Can you help?!

I attended college between 1993-1999 (off and on as my schedule permitted). I was actually paying my own way through college and the debt just became too overwhelming. My major was Interior Design (not decorating). I know that major is going to be too time intensive…considering where I am in my life, now. I’m married, have an elementary aged child, no family living nearby, husband who works many hours, and I am working full time as well. I basically need to start over. I know that many of my credits are just too old now or just won’t apply to a degree in Business or Nutrition, etc. I need a program that A. is near or less than $3000/year, B. 100% online (no A.A. or A.S. Degree as a requirement), and C. will be possible for me to earn more than $30K/year. I am interested in Nutrition (not cooking), Computer related programs (IT), possibly Speech, possibly business, possibly human resources. Thank you for any input you may have to offer.

Ok, so here’s the deal. Im trying to figure out which college to attend. Im a full-time worker and have two options at this point. I can attend Liberty University and major in what I really want, which is Business/Finance. The thing is, it’s a tier IV school…but fully accredited (I already checked this out). OR I can attend a top school, University of Richmond. Because it’s an evening program, I would have to major in something like HR Management..which I have no plans to go into. Either way, after I graduate, Im going for my MBA. My question is, should I compromise my major just so that I can graduate from a better school or should I choose the lesser school which has my major? Ive checked into other institutions, but none of them fit my needs as a full time worker. PLEASE any advice you have is welcomed!! Thanks.

I am a parent of 3 kids. I will be a first time student this fall at a jr. College. I am trying to figure out my major now so I wont waste any more time. (Im already starting late) My children will be out of High School soon and I will be going back to work.(I am now self employed from home) Because I will be transferring to another school for my Bach. degree I am trying to sort things out. I am considering two different schools to transfer to. One of them is Athens State. The other school is UAH in Huntsville, Al. Because the programs are different, I need some help. Please be sweet, as ,this is all new to me. I did not have an opportunity to go to college after High school as a lot of people do.
UAh says online that it offers a Bach of science degree in B.A. It then lists the major disciplines as Accounting, management, marketing and finance (I am interested in Management ). It then divides the curriculum into 4 concentrations: gen mangagement, human resources, aquisition,
