Best Way To Develop My Hr Career?

I got my MBA a year ago and now working as HR process analyst in Silicon Valley. I want to develop my career as a human resource professional. Greatly appreciate if someone can help me answers the following questions:
1. What is the best HCM software I should learn. SAP HR, peoplesoft, SAS?
2. Should I obtain a PHR certification.
3. What is the trend in HR? What skills are in demand now for HR professional to develop?

I’m sorry I can’t answer all of your questions but I’ll throw in my piece of knowledge out at you.
Take the PHR! If you just came out of your MBA program, all of that information should still be fresh in your mind (assuming you had an HR emphasis), and you can get much lower rates if you take it while you’re still a student.
I also strongly recommend joining SHRM, as it is the “clique” for HR professionals nowadays. In addition, they’ll also send you a very interesting and useful HR Magazine which will update you on trends, etc.
