Yes, people without formal HR training can get into the field. Certificate helps (there is the PHR from HRCI) but that&#039;s kind of expensive to get. You might want to find out more about the field before you invest in this. 
HR people love to help people out - so don&#039;t feel worried about reaching out to them.
