Can You Please Clarify What The Bachelors Degree In This Program Will Be?
I am a parent of 3 kids. I will be a first time student this fall at a jr. College. I am trying to figure out my major now so I wont waste any more time. (Im already starting late) My children will be out of High School soon and I will be going back to work.(I am now self employed from home) Because I will be transferring to another school for my Bach. degree I am trying to sort things out. I am considering two different schools to transfer to. One of them is Athens State. The other school is UAH in Huntsville, Al. Because the programs are different, I need some help. Please be sweet, as ,this is all new to me. I did not have an opportunity to go to college after High school as a lot of people do.
UAh says online that it offers a Bach of science degree in B.A. It then lists the major disciplines as Accounting, management, marketing and finance (I am interested in Management ). It then divides the curriculum into 4 concentrations: gen mangagement, human resources, aquisition,

The UAh is a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concetration in x
That means that most of the major courses will be general business admin type courses but that there will be a specific concentration as well.
This differs from a Bachelor of Science in Management where the majority of the major courses will be management specific (although some basic core of business will be required as well).
What the diploma says differs from school-to-school. Some list just the degree “Bachelor of Science” and some the degree and major “Bachelor of Science in Business Administration” and some list everything “Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and minor in Marketing”
What’s important is 1) the classes that you are required to take 2) the transcript. You will want to do the program that has the course sequence that you are interested in. That could be a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies if it has the courses you want.
Employers and grad schools care about the transcript. If employers ask at all, it’s for a transcript and not the diploma. Grad schools will ask for the transcript and not diploma.
So, what you want to do is pull a copy of the catalog and read the specific courses required for each. That’s where the real difference lies – not in the title of the degree. Degree titles just get confusing but course requirement lists are absolute. For example, I have a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Performing Arts. The same courses make for a Bachelor of Arts in Theater at some other colleges.
You will be getting a Bach of science in Business Administration. This is a general overview of all the things that are required to run your own business. If you are only interested in management and do not want your own business, then I would consider majoring in management.
i am not sure but i think you mean a bs degree and the list is acct, management, market and finance
and business admistration-general, hr, aquisition.
could you clarify the question a bit. or if not then just go with what you are interested in going into. secretary, hr, acct etc….
ps. sorry posted before it had on the add ons. most degree’s actually would just say a bachelor of arts in business and thats it. however on resumes and such you would put what ever you majored/studied in.
