Should Pregnancy By Considered A Work Related Injury?

Ever since I had the Uni-Sex bathroom put in, State mandated by the way, there has been a spate of claims to my company. Suzi, yes with an i, our receptionist, claims that she is but not to sure who did it to her, Ruth, the Office Manager says that the Sales Manager swept her away in the 3rd stall to the right, and Bertha, my Shipping Manager (who I always thought was named Bert. It never even occured to me she was female) says that her romance started in the bathroom only to be consumated on the fork-lift with my HR Director Kim (who I always thought was a female I suppose in hindsight, I was wrong to send him panty hose for his birthday).
So now they are all sueing me for child support.
Is this right?

Do I Have A Chance At This Job??? Hr Professionals Would Be Very Helpful!?

Ok, I had an interview and it went really well. I got a tour of the place, met the Director of Operations and was there for 2 hours. I got a phone call the very next morning from the HR manager, which was the person I spent most of interview. He said that I did an “outstanding job”. This was pretty much what he said to me -> “I want you to know that you are a very stong candidate for this position. Both the Director of Operations and I thought you were outstanding and would be a great fit for our organization. There is one other candidate with a slight edge over you, ONLY because of her background. You do not lack anything that we are looking for. I want you to really be proud of yourself for the interview and keep in mind that you are definately a strong candidate with this position. We’ll see where this goes.”
What does this mean?! Do I have a chance at this position???
Feedback please??

Should I Wear Business Casual Clothing To Work?

I work in a laboratory (environmental testing industry) where the dress code is casual. I work within the IT department. The only people I see who wear business casual/professional dress on a constant basis is the director of the lab and the IT manager. The project managers and supervisors wear business casual when a client comes in or when they feel like dressing up. Mostly they wear jeans to work. Our corporate office and corporate staff is located in another state so corporate people only come in and they announce when they come in. How important is it for me to wear business casual? Do you honestly think I will “get ahead” if I wear business casual, etc/? Even the HR lady in our office wears casual clothing most of the time. Any advice to be given on this subject?

I Quit My Job On 6/28…what Are Good Reasons To Convince The Work Labor For The Interview I Have On 8/2?

I had several problems with my job at the Hotel. It was overwelming and very disciminative atmosphere which lead me to a dead end for 8 months…with No raise$ no Breaks while having extended work hrs. My report to Human Resourses for 3 months were ignored with No solution given to me NOT EVEN TO TRANFER ME IN ANOTHER DEPARTMENT when there were several open positions…actually I was forced to work in a very chaotic atmosphere with some trainee managers whom their job was to have 5 breaks to smoke…and midnight seat at Hotel’s bar enjoying them selfs…while I was working to accomplish their uncovered responsibilities.
Trainnee Managers of course QUIT and I my self did the same 2 days after…What should I say to work labor department to convince them that this job was causing me emotional distress? I just want to collect my benefits until I get another full time job…The Hotel’s HR director is trying to sabotage me not to get my Unemployment $$$ cause I quit…+ walked out…!

How Do You Deal With A “leader” That Refuses To Part With Information?

At my job we are working on a project that will span abot 4 years. The project manager (who is the Director of Ops) refuses to have regular meetings and provide information. I think of it as a death march- setting us up for failure. We all scramble for bits of info to complete our part, and without the whole integrated picture this can cause delays, frustration and misinformation. Any attempts to help the PM are brusquely ignored or waved away. I think that he does this to make the rest of us look like idiots, and he is the savior. In any case, going to HR does no good. I would like to deal with this in an open and honest fashion, trying to make him look bad will only backfire and not improve the situation.
Would appreciate you feedback on working with info-hoarders and people with power who are insecure in their role.

How Should I Ask To Get A Better Increase And More Money?

I currently work as a HR Assistant in a clinical research organization and I recently received an increase of about 4% for my last year performance which overall was good! A receptionist who has about the same amount of experience as I do with no degree not only received a 4% increase but was also promoted to an HR Assistant role with an additional 4% increase, now making almost $3000 more then me. This has made me furious!! How can I approach my Director for a fair evaluation?? Or help her see my side without any threats. I currently need my job as I am planning on making some life changes.
