Hr Recruiters/directors, Etc.: Which Do You Value More, Ability Or Experience?

I am entering a new career field (market research) and I am completely frustrated/annoyed by some recruiters who go strictly by the resume (i.e., experience). I am very bright, hardworking, easy to work with and generally able to figure things out on my own.
Why do some recruiters seemingly ignore ability and focus entirely on experience?

    I am sorry for your predicament.
    Most employers use qualification and experience as a yardstick to pre-qualify. When the actual hiring comes to play, usually its the character and cost comes to play.
    To be really inhumane, think of recruiting as buying a Computer. Speciications, Packaging, Branding, Looks, features, OS, Rams , Warranty .. yah dee dah’s .. yadda yadda.
    When push comes to shove where decision need to be made any of the above criteria can and will apply. Usually the percieved value is more important to the purchaser.
    Thats why on your resume it may be good to upsell your “useful” traits and catch their eye first. Even microsoft cannot sell windows to everyone and they are the dominant in the market. out of the billions of world population MS only manages to sell (or force their products) to less than half.
    Do not despair in your search. But package your “products/ oferings” to make you attractive to recruiters.
    Remember my friend . They are doing it because its a job and you are doing it with a vested interest….. yours.
    Like most people who compete in American Idol, they all think that they can win.
