What you’re doing now has a lot of aspects of HR: hiring, training, employee relations, employee productivity. Not only that, higher level positions in HR require the ability to “see whole picture”, work with CFO’s, owners and see how changes in one area can affect the other parts of the business. If you are getting experience in running a Panera Bread operation, you are getting valuable skills in learning about the DYNAMICS of an organization. I’d say: You’re so young, …. stay there and get some longevity. That type of experience for, at least, 18 – 24 months should serve you well when looking for your next job.
Stick with it for the time being. It will give you good work experience and help you to get along with others in the work place. Good luck.
If you stay at Panera Bread you should take some culinary arts classes.
I think every work experience adds value to your career goals. Just be aware its the transferable skills you have to learn from like knowing how to delegate, how to find the right people to do the job right as an HR person would and when you are a senior in college, you take an internship in HR. You get the internship by explaining your managerial skills.
yes
anytime you work and have some form of responsibility and go to school at the same time, it will open more doors in the future for you, as an manager you are in the Human Resources field if you think about it, what your doing is a start and a good one.
