Also is there a salary difference in the HR field when holdind this certificate. I only have 2 years in HR, with no degree. I need to know will it be worth investing in this certificate or should I continue working towards my degree alone?

Short answer is YES, it’s worth it. Not just the specific knowledge and professional credibility you’ll gain, but also the HR networking contacts you’ll make IF you take the course in a classroom setting vs. online.
I have not noticed a salary difference with PHR certification. That being said, mody job postings requiring a PHR to apply also require a college degree. Although, I have found when applying for positions in HR the one skill that I lack that is required is being bilingual! In my opinion, sit for your exam and take spanish!
Good luck in your job hunt.
For me, I did get a salary increase when I got my PHR. I already had my degree and over 3 years of HR experience at the time though. The certification shows that you have a broad knowledge in HR, so if you’re looking for a Generalist type position, it helps. If you know the specific area you are interested in (i.e. Benefits, Training, Recruiting) then a lot of those sub-fields have their own certifications and such.
If you end up side by side with a similar candidate, a PHR will land you that job. The knowledge gained from the experience will also make you a better employee. I see it as an great way to get ahead. BTW, I will be getting my PHR right after I take the PMP test. That is a good combination.
hello – its not going to get you more money immediately,. but getting the certification will open more doors for you and get you more in the long run. People look for it. Its worth it. Good luck.
