Is Hr Block’s Taxcut Software As Good And As Easy As Turbotax ?

I’ve used Turbo Tax for several years, but Taxcut is 25% cheaper thus it is attractive. What has been your experience with Taxcut?

If you have investment accounts and did some buying/seling of mutual funds/stocks, beware that taxcut 2005 no longer offer auto entry feature where you can download the records from the investment company directly.
For that reason alone, I’d go with Turbotax. If you dont have any stock trading, either one is OK. I have used both in the past 5 years, and I think Turbotax is more refined.

This year both TaxCut and TurboTax are sporting updated interfaces and improvements in their calculations. Thus both software programs are really top-notch. I have tested both programs quite thoroughly (over three hours of testing on each product). You can read my reviews through the links below. First link: TaxCut (rated 4.5/5). Second link: TurboTax (rated 5/5).
