I can’t say 20 hours. What I can say is it’s a HEAVY schedule. Why do you think accidents like Heath Ledger’s death occurred? He hasn’t been the first actor who died b/c of sleeping pills. Why do you think actors/actresses turn into drug addicts? B/c of the hard work.
The days are that long, but it’s not constant work for everybody. On big Hollywood sets like that, there are so many people doing so many things, it doesn’t seem like a long time. A lot of time is actually just setting up the set, lights, makeup, camera positions, sound, etc. That takes HOURS. I guarantee that the lights ALWAYS take the longest.
The actors, on the other hand, DO NOT work 20hr days. They spend 99.99% of the time in their trailers, chilling out, and they’re only called on set when it’s time to do a quick rehearsal, blocking (positioning them for the scene) or time to shoot.
Movie sets are very strict, and people do not want you on the set unless it’s necessary. You’ll be hard put to find somebody just standing around.
These are instances when they are on a tight sched like when they are under intense pressure to catch up with release schedule or budget over runs. Most that I have learned of do not use cocaine. Rather, they have these 10 to 15 minutes nap on set, which are normal during a 24 hour non stop filming. Black coffees, softdrinks and even skipping rope tune up just to revved up their mental and physical capabilities are there. Hope this help.
I don’t think he worked 20 hours a day. It was more 20 hours at a time. So he’d work 20 hours, then take a day off, come back the next day and work another 20 hours.
ya its true thats the life when your in hollywood films. they eventualy get used to it.
its not cocaine, its coffee
