As the Human Resource leader, your responsibilities range from directing the daily operations of the Human Resources Department, administrate HR policies, budgeting and supervise HR staff. In addition, your department will manage employee benefits, performance management, employee counseling, recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, worker’s compensation, employee health, meet compliance and HRIS programs. As HR Director, you act as the liaison to upper management and directly report to the President / CEO of most companies.
1. First, don’t forget the resume, ask for a card, write and email thank you AND a thank you letter to both parties. I know that sounds old school and silly but it’s a majot deal breaker to this day.
2. The second interview usually asks similar questions to the first, as they want to see if you answer a question the same way when it is posed differently. You will also be asked some behavioral questions and I would look up some questions for samples and practice what your response will be.
Have a number of questions you have accumalated from the last interview as well using statements that the past interviewer gave you. For example, “Betty said I would be responsible for checking all new references. How many new hires are there per year and what percentage of time would this take?” These types of questions show you have not only listened, but are interested and you are taking a interactive engagement in the interview.
Make certain you ask what the plan is for closure on this position. If there are no more interviews to be scheduled I would ask if you will be allowed to meet the team and offer to shadow for a few hours and work with the team to see if you feel it is a fit. Ask how many people are being interviewed for the position and where they feel you rank right now. Ask if there is a date they plan for the new hire to begin.
Good luck! Just be yourself too- that’s always HUGE.
They always ask what you are best at and what you are worst at.
Use this trick-the worst thing you do should actually be positive, not negative. For example, you tend to be a workaholic, staying late and doing extra stuff. You LOVE to do the more difficult stuff and can’t resist jumping in quickly. Etc. Be prepared for this. And never make yourself out to be better than anyone else. Your best trait should be multi-tasking.
It’s been a while but let me think.
I remember they would ask you questions like
What makes you qualified for this position?
Why should they consider you for the position ?
What type of skills wou;d you be able to offer the company?
Out of all the applications why does yours stand out?
i think the question s are ,,,are u capable of doing the job??,,,do u have any experience in doing that kind of stuff??……………..just guessing.lol
