I can’t decide which one will find more business deductions for me. While HR Block is significantly cheaper, TurboTax says it will find more deductions. However, I never have enough to take PERSONAL deductions, so I’m not quite sure it will matter (I don’t own a home, I have no kids, and even my $200 of donated stuff isn’t enough to make it more worthwhile to take personal deductions instead of their set deduction).
I’m just wondering which one will find more business deductions for me… I am self employed not sure its worth the money to get either program.
I need to know what I should do!

J… To clarify answers from others, I would add that since you file a Schedule C you probably can’t use the free solutions presented at the IRS site. Furthermore, I’m guessing that your business is not too complicated and if so, then I would recommend TurboTax Deluxe. Although TurboTax Home & Business is designed for completing your Schedule C (business income), Deluxe will work fine for those whose business is not too complicated. Purchasing Deluxe will save you a lot of money. And from what I’ve seen of actual retail prices, TurboTax and H&R Block’s product are comparably priced.
I hope this information helps.

They both ask questions. If you’re self-employed, you should know your expenses for the year associated with the business. I recommend visiting a tax professional just so you understand where your deductions for the year are coming from and can plan ahead rather than gathering information at year end.
It really doesn’t matter…both will work and give you the same result, regardless of any marketing hype.
they both include all the schedules you need for a normal return
Simple answer – go to the IRS website and use one of the e file programs that are there – many to choose from ( I personally like http://www.olt.com; it found deductions that TT missed)
