As the Human Resource leader, your responsibilities range from directing the daily operations of the Human Resources Department, administrate HR policies, budgeting and supervise HR staff. In addition, your department will manage employee benefits, performance management, employee counseling, recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, worker’s compensation, employee health, meet compliance and HRIS programs. As HR Director, you act as the liaison to upper management and directly report to the President / CEO of most companies.
I’m studying International Business Management and Marketing at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, so here the classes can definitely be tough, especially the starting classes because the business schools (at least higher ranked schools) use the starting classes to weed people out that aren’t serious and hard workers. Exams will depends on the university, but some classes generally have somewhere between 2-4 exams, excluding midterm and finals. Coursework isn’t too heavy, but studying is an important part. Generally, a good course load is about 15-16 credit hours so that you’re busy but not overwhelmed with tough classes. IU says that students should spend 2 hours of independent study time for every credit hour (so for a 3 credit hour course that meets for 3 hours a week you should spend 6 hours a week preparing and studying for that class) but for business courses sometimes it can be higher.
