Hi Continue reading How To Get My Associate Degree In Human Resourced Assistant? I was hired to be the salaried office manager of a small, busy construction office in Chicago, IL. I have also become the HR director, the receptionist and at the moment, the accountant. One of the guys in the office is dumping a lot of work on me which severely limits my capacity to tend to my original and additional duties. I don’t have time for breaks and barely have time for lunch. The boss said I have to help him. This guy yells at me, swears at me and constantly belittles me. He also yells at everyone else in the office, telling them what their job is and how to do it. I complained to the boss and the guy stopped swearing at me, but that’s all that’s stopped. I have been bringing work home nights and weekends, yet I get yelled at for not getting all the work done and have to deal with upset customers and coworkers because I don’t have time to do anything for them. I have 3 kids at home and I’m having a hard time finding another job that pays decent. What can I do? Due to recent downsizing, my company eliminated the HR Director’s position and has replaced him with the CEO’s assistant. Is this allowed? I have an HR bachelor’s degree and will start my new job very soon. I am hoping to advance within the company, but if that’s not possible I would obviously need to look outside the company for opportunities. Most higher level HR jobs require HR experience. How many years in this position do you think would be adequate to advance to a higher level position such as assistant director or maybe director of one HR department (benefits, training, etc.)? I have a Big interview coming up Thursday…Meeting with 3 executives, including VP of HR, that this position will be supporting. Any tips????? My interview is Friday, June 23, 2006. This is a large company and I will be assisting the Director and Assistant Director of the HR Department. I am a recent graduate with a BSBA in Human Resource Management. This is a temporary position with the potential to become a full time position. I woild like to be very prepared. My sister in law was recently hired at my company as the HR Assistant. I really don’t feel comfortable with her knowing how much I make and would like to express this discomfort to the HR Director, her boss. The only thing is, it’s only the two of them that work in the HR department and I don’t want this to get back to my sister inlaw (they are both gossip queens). What should I do? Are there any rights that would protect a family member’s information in the workplace? |
