I am graduating this year and I was thinking about studying Human Resources. I just wanted to know what it was like, is the work hard, what kind of classes do you have, and overall do you like majoring in that subject. Please help!

There is a customer who shops where I work. On 1 occassion, he grabbed my shirt to look at the tattoo on my back, he has mimicked squeezing my breasts and grabbing my buttocks. Management “talked” to him, but didn’t ban him from shopping there. Now, he doesn’t say anything to me, just paces in front of my register, points me out to his friends, and on 2 occassions, I believe his vehicle has followed me through the parking lot. My bosses now say he isn’t doing anything wrong, but I think he’s violating KS harassment and stalking laws. After the regional HR director told me the customer would be banned, my local HR has told me they’ll get multiple statements from co-workers stating my behavior at work suggests “I asked for it.” My question…what legal recourse do I have, if any…and can I establish a hostile work environment?

What are the Pros & Cons of being a Human Resource Manager?
I am about to start school for Human Resource Management but I first need to find out the pros & cons of it and what in detail is involved with the job( I know usually hiring, firing, training and benefits) but what else?

To add to my first part she has said to me on numerous occasions that “the only reason that i’m gay is because I have not had sex with the right woman” she has also invited me to her home prior to her getting married again about 4 months ago, I assumed that when she got married for the second time at 29 this would have stopped, but since she is my supervisor we pass each other in the hallways and most recently she said that HR would not buy my story because i’m gay and she is married but the couple of meetings I have had with HR I feel that they are trying to protect her for whatever reason who knows and there is also alot of miscommunication between HR, Director of my depart, and my supervisor…what they dont know is that I’ve recorded all meetings on tape. so when I felt that nothing was happening in a timely manner I went to my directors boss with an e-mail explaining everything, the department mngr told be that I should not CC my e-mails to anyone but her….someone is hiding smth

Ok there are two things going on:
1) I was promised health insurance benefit. I even believe it’s on my job offer in writing. After my 90 days probation period, I tried to apply but my eployer had no information on it. So I had to wait for the HR Dept. to find out about the plans and prices of the offered plans. As soon as they came to me with the options, I signed up but they told me I missed the deadline (which even the HR director didn’t know existed until the morning she told me that). Now my employer is telling me I will have to wait until May, 2007.
2) My employer is behind 5 or six pay stubs for paychecks to all employees (8 of us, it’s a small company). We know they don’t have pay stubs for us because they are behind on their taxes so they can’t provide a pay stub. I know that if my employer is not paying taxes, they are putting in jeopardy the workman’s comp they are supposed to have. So theoretically, if I get F’d up and need disability, they won’t be able to provide.

I was written up by my new manager of one month. Reason stated “I have displayed a bad attitude and negative body language at the meeting for restructering of the department”. I am uncomfortable with this person being a manager mainly because her deprtment states she is horrible and never there and she and I are both in a leadership class for work and now I have to report to her as my manager. I should have been directed as a Lead or Supervisor. Some coworkers say that she is threaten by me and my education (aa abd bba degress) and that I have 7 years in my company. But to go as far as writing me uo. I refused to sign the disciple action notice and thus it has been turned into HR. I called the vP of HR myself and set up a meeting for tomorrow. Now I am thinking what should I bring to the meeting. Emails from her? My letters of recommendations from the CEO? My two nominations for Employee of the Year? The fact that I am on 4 committees and this class? How should I prepare myself for this meeting? I know I wasn’t happy about the changes but I was not rude or disrespectful in any matter.
