Hi, I am an Indonesian who lived in Singapore. Currently, I am looking for job. My experience and expertise is in HRMS / HRIS / HR Application / Software (non SAP/Peoplesoft, more 10 years experience, non PR). Anyone can help me?
If you want no degree, then you would need about 3+ years of human resources experiences. If you want a degree, then a 2 years degree might do it for you, depending on the employer’s preference, but most will want a 4 years degree.
Attempting to make a career change, just uncertain about how to approach the situation with no prior experience. Will be attending MBA classes this fall.
I had that same problem when I tried to break into HR years ago. Here are a few things you can do that worked for me:
- internships – see if you can do an internship with a company – you can get a lot of exposure to the different areas within HR by doing that first
- staffing – recruiting requires a lot of administrative support so there tend to be a lot of jobs in staffing. try to go for a recruiting coordinator job or HR Coordinator job. it will be grunt work and you’ll enjoy most of it b/c you’ll get the exposure you need.
- temp agency – see if you can find a job doing HR thru a temp agency – ANY HR experience is good HR experience, even if its a short term temporary assignment.
Don’t worry about what level you join in an HR group – if you’re good, you’ll move up that chain very quickly. I’ve been in HR now 10 years and I love every minute of it. Good luck!!
apply for entry level position in HR department!
I have heared from many persons that MBA should not be done without experience in any engineering industry. I started my MBA because I want to get capabilities of business and management and want to get a fine job.
Because after double degree person has good job.
Now what should I do? because I dont want to leave my engineering background.
Please help me…or give me options
I want to persue carrer in SAP Management, I’ve doen BCA as an Graduation.
