im doing a school project on managers. like CEOs, directors, executive directors, managing directors, head of HR…. and i need to find an article long and relevant enough. one which covers the management stuff, some of his company facts and on the manager him/herself. please help. thanks
My aunt has more degrees then I can count…
She speaks 4 languages fluently & a hand full more enough to “Get By”…
She has taught English in Inner-City Chicago Schools…
She has edited text books…
She has taught English as a 2nd language in Spain…
She has taught English to a Middle Eastern Prince…
She worked as the Head of HR in Amsterdam for 7 years…
She worked as Director of HR for the France Campus & was Head of Staff Development for the Singapore Campus for a world renowned International Business School for 7 years or so… Where she had to deal with both students & staff from each and every inch of the Globe & find a way to make them all happy!
Yet she has been back in the US for over a year now & hasn’t had a single serious job offer.
If she didn’t have friends with extra room or a friend with an unrented apartment she would be broke & on the verge of being homeless…
I am so torn as to whether or not it is time. I really love my job.. Well I love what I do and my direct boss, but the office politics have really gotten to me.
I am an Execuitve Assistant for one of the founders of the company. I work for the HR Director in my spare time and sometimes help out the other founder as needed.
The HR Director is absolutely awful! She has crazy mood swings and does not think there is anything wrong with yelling at me in front of other employees. Her argument is that she is allowed to be in a bad mood. She is very belittling and watches my every move. The other founder thinks and treats me as if I am worthless.
In addition, when I discuss these feelings with my direct boss, he tells me that I am over-reacting and that I need to get a thicker skin. He just does not understand nor offer any solution.
I apoligize for ranting, however, I am just so torn. In addition, I work in the same office as my husband which is very convenient. HELP!
I have a MBA & Master in Human Resources & PHR Certification.
Seven (7) years governmental experince as a Generalist & Director of HR.
Several Risk Management courses towards ARM certification.
Pursuing IPMA-HR -CP certification and Master’s in Employment Law.
I have taught Human Resource Management, helped find and interview possible employees and have done many seminars. What am I missing here? Why is it so difficult to find a job in HR? I am very passionate about HR and would be an excellent employee. I loved going to school for it. I have a very good work history. I was a computer programmer for quite a few years and have been a financial advisor for 4. I’m constantly networking, am always sending resumes out and I can’t find a job in it. I know I can’t be a HR Director off the bat but I don’t want an entry level position either. With my work experience and education, I can help a company so much and make a difference. If you have any advice, I would really appreciate it. I even have my own hour long, call in radio show that I love. I’m very personable and easy going and make everyone comfortable.
