Also is there a salary difference in the HR field when holdind this certificate. I only have 2 years in HR, with no degree. I need to know will it be worth investing in this certificate or should I continue working towards my degree alone? So, about a month ago I was offered a job at a daycare right across the street from where I live. It’s perfect for me because I can walk, and I’m in school getting a psychology degree. I want to be a teacher someday, and it’s good experience. Not to mention the pay is great…11 dollars to start, goes up to 13 after 6 months!! Anyway, it takes everyone a long time to get all their required paperwork ready because they are a governement daycare. I have lived in lots of different states, and it took a while. Anyway, the week that I was going to in process through the human resource office I had a death in the family. I tried contacted the HR office, and got an answering machine. I had to go out of town, and told them that in the two messages that I left. So, a few days went by and they didn’t call me back. I called them again, and they said they never recieved any of my calls or messages! They told me that I could still in process if the director of the daycare said it was okay, and when I called her she basically bitched me out, and told me they moved on. WELL, my neighbor also got a job there and said that they have not yet found anyone, and the director is just really stressed out and working long hours. I was thinking that maybe I can write a letter and apologize for the mis communication, and tell her that I am still available? I don’t know..is that a stupid idea? What do you think? It is frustrating that hiring managers/human resources don’t call me for an interview. I apply for jobs that I qualify for and I’ve been told my resume is good. I also write good cover letters- I’ve read the books and done research on what should be said. I put an hour into applying for a Marketing Director position listed on Career Builder and even left a follow up phone call a week later. I don’t understand how I don’t even qualify for the first step- the interview! Any help or suggestions would be appreciated- especially from those of you resumes go to. What are you looking for and what stands out in an applicant?? Thanks! I’m a sophistocated, classy young man that was caught in cooperate bullying. I got two valued employees fired, and then everyone started criticizing, behind my back, everything that i do at work. So when the opportunity came they suspended me “pending further investigation” I have a meeting witht eh director of human resources, and the director of food and beverage tomorrow. I need your help =) |
