Calling all HR Execs! Can A Non Human Resources graduate get a job and Work in HR ?
I Completed my studies with a degree in Information Technology and Management and I worked in a bank for 1 year ( contract). My contract expired before I could look for another job.
Now I am teaching part time while waiting for a job offer and I am contemplating a career switch.
Can I get a job in HR? What does a person in Human Resources do, besides Hiring and firing ? Is it very stressful working in HR? Whats the pay like ?What do they look for in a person for a HR job?
Do I have to have special qualifications like a diploma or Certificate or is it an on the job training like sales in the bank?
And Also, how do you answer interview questions, when you apply for a job in HR, and they throw you an interview for the job in the IT department?
It seems to me that almost every company pigeonholes me in IT, when the fact is, I haven’t work in IT since graduation and I do not want to pursue IT anymore
iam searching for hr jobs, right know iam pursuing pgdhrm i.e.,post graduate diploma inhuman resource mgt course.am i eligible for hr jobs.
One friend of mine has asked me to find a good Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources Management to follow in Australia. This is for his daughter who has done a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. What are the best universities and the degrees? I am clueless and any help would be appreciated much.
Hi I am about to join a degree program (MBA), I have to select a specialization. Can anyone let me know what is expected out of an MBA graduate with specialization on, Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, Operations and IT Management.
I finsihed my BA in Sociology and don’t see what i can do with it, so i was thinking of doing Post Graduate certificate in HR. Would that get me into a good career?
If I get my Master’s in Human Resources, is it possible to do management soon after, or does it usually take years of experience before you can do this?
What would I do in the meantime if my goal is management? Maybe career or training development?
Thanks for any advice
I have a BA in Management and Organizational Development. I work as a manager of 65 people in a clerical setting in the health care industry. I have an interest in Human Resources but no experience in the field. I see that EMU offers a graduate certificate in Human Resources with the option of continuing on for the full graduate degree later. Do you think that this would help me gain entry into the field? Or would it be a waste of time/effort?
