“During your employment you will be able to participate in certain company benefitsupon completion of service requirements. These benefits include: medical insurance, 401k, paid time off, and an employee assistance program. Further information reguarding these benefits will be furnished for you at the start of your employment” She sent that out about a month after I started…she said 2-3 months before health kicks in…now she says 1 year…I am on Salary. I live in NYC and we do that Paychex HR thing. And I am VP of Sales. Is a year normal…or is it b/c they know my wife has cancer?
What have poor public health management example poor control of infectious diseases management (TB) and mismanagement of a public health system going to affect my country’s economy and reputation?
There is undisclosed videotape on how poorly Tuberculosis is managed in my country and also AMD and other related issues in public healthcare. I am not sure whether to disclose or not?
There is this Senior Nursing Officer who is well known for her power-crazed mentality. She cut costs (like discouraging staff nurses wearing N-95 mask when treating patients who are on Direct Observation Therapy). Few of our staff have contacted latent TB but now in a manageable stage.
On the other hand, she order unnecessary stocks which eventually cost a burden to the clinic, kept a secret account book on this but tactfully hidden from the management.
Towards the management side, she have also the support from her nursing director, doctor-in-charge, human resource management, etc and etc.
Besides that, she liaises with the doctor in charge to cover up Advance Medical Directive Protocol. By right, all AMD should be sign as a legal document with a witness to what the doctor said to the patient. However in this clinic, the so-call witness is not present to listen to what the doctor said to the patient and blindly sign on the witness column. This is a strong legal issue. There is a tape on hand on how she discourages nurses to be present as a witness for AMD. This is for the ease of the doctors and by doing that she believes this would please the doctor in charge and other doctors.
Worst of all, she will harm people in her workplace capable of disclosing her misdeeds and a major workplace bully to the extent that all her subordinates have no choice but to give good comments about her unless they would to leave. She has coordinated with the management well (HR manager, Director of Nursing, Doctor-in-charge) but she has mentioned to her subordinates behind that these people are not in the sense of mind and inferior to her.
Even if I disclose the facts, she have the means to cover up and that is one of the thing she is very good at but with loopholes only if someone close with her is willing to help in the investigations.
She means more harm than good to the general public healthcare besides a workplace bully. But what can I do? I was thinking of letting the media know about what I have on hand but I think it is unfair for our Health Minister and the CEO of the public health organization on other hand.
If I disclosed, in my country, they will pretend to treat me as a friend initially, but later on for the reputation of the country to others, then they will put me down. I have tried that before already, and luckily still surviving.
I am still hanging and everyday is miserable. To me, Advanced Medical Directive is a very sacred thing as what I agree in line with my Health Minister. It should not be anyhow treated. The witness must be the witness as stated in the form, acknowledging what the doctor has advice the patient.
My family’s health insurance is issued through my husband’s employer. They recently changed our insurance from blue cross to united healthcare beginning Nov. 1. We still have no cards. When I try to print the temp. cards from the website I get an error. I called my husband’s employer and the human resource director told me to not go to the dr. and don’t have any perscriptions filled until we get the cards because the insurance is bad about reimbursing. I called the insurance company and they couldn’t give me any info–they said I had to have my card before they could help me! I’m so ticked off right now and I have 2 drs. appts tomorrow that I simply can’t cancel. My question is–is this legal? Isn’t there some time frame in which they have to give us the cards?
Thanks in advance!
I am looking to interview a health administrator (i.e., CEO, CFO, Department Manager such as Human Resources, a Director, or Administrator, etc.) of a health service organization, for a school project.
The nature of the interview would be to discuss the coordination of internal and external services. Who are the key players? How does coordination take place? What activities or processes are in place to ensure coordination? How are opportunities for coordination identified, maintained, and sustained?
If there is anyone interesting in helping me with this assignment, I would appreciate it greatly.
Please respond to this post if you are interested with your credentials and then we can exchange email address.
