I Am Looking For Research Material About Human Resources, And New Policies In Hiring Practices?

I am in a discussion group for one of classes, and we are developing a business plan, and I am the “human resource manager” for the group, so I am doing research on hiring solid employees and am looking for any pertinent information.

Second Interview For Hiring Coordinator Position At Bank?

Good afternoon all. I had an interview yesterday for a Hiring Coordinator position at a bank. The position’s base responsibility is the recruiting and hiring of hourly employees for 15 branch locations. Positions such as tellers, loan officers, etc. But, I would also assist in other facets of HR, such as job description writing, researching employment law issues, and updating the company personnel policy.
Here’s the question. I have been invited back for a second interview in a couple of weeks. The VP of HR whom I interviewed with said this interview would be more of a “grill session” wherein she’d ask me scenario questions. What I’d do in certain situations.
I have experience working as an HR consultant for city and county govenment, but have never worked for a bank. Anyone in the industry, or familiar with the industry, have an idea on type of scenario questions I should expect and how I should respond to those questions?
Thank you for any advice.

Does Anyone Know The Hiring Process At New York And Company?

I had interviewed with 3-4 different people about three weeks ago at their corporate headquarters in Los Angeles and I felt like the interview went great. I have been going back and forth with the HR director and she has told me that they are really close in making a decision. It has been three weeks since the day I interviewed and the only response I am getting is we are close in making a decision. How long do background checks take anyways?? I have never waited this long for a job. What should I do?

Can I Write A Letter To Ask If A Decision Has Been Made On Hiring?

I made the mistake of not asking when a decision was going to be made during an interview. Can I write a letter to find out if it has been made? What do I say? (I interviewed with the Head of HR & went back to meet with VP I would work with) who do I ask?

Applied For Hiring Coordinator Position At A Bank. Any Tips To Help Me Land The Job?

I currently work as a HR Consultant for a firm that works with city and county govenments. We help them recruit/hire (a little), create job ads, write job descriptions, develop personnel policies, set compensation, etc. I’ve been working there for a year and a half.
The position would be recruiting and hiring hourly employees, maintaining recruitment files, and maintaining HR forms and job descriptions. They want 1-2 years of related experience and proficiency in Office products, with banking experience a plus.
I don’t have experience in the banking industry, but I do offer an MBA, Bachelor’s Degree in HR, and have assisted one client in recruiting and screening applicants for an HR Director position. I have recruited and hired an HR Assistant and two interns for our firm and written/revised many job descriptions.
I believe I have the education and experience, but how can I make myself stand out before and after the interview? What are banks in particular looking for?
