Right now i’m just going for an associate degree and during my Human Resources class my instructor was saying how an associate degree is the same now as a high school diploma was back in the 60’s and 70’s. Now i’m all discourages because i want to be educated to the highest power and im very excited and interested in Paralegal studies. But i don’t want years from now my associates degree is become a problem if i’m ever out looking for a job.

A number of people go into HR with MIR degrees (Master of Industrial Relations) – it really depends on what career path you are choosing: employee/industrial relations, organizational development, total rewards, training and talent management, etc. The reality is that in the 21st Century, HR is moving from a tactical to a more strategic role and is a respected partner at the business table. To that end, many also go the MBA or even the LLM.

SPHR – it has to be kept update with ongoing education in the field versus a degree program that does not require continuing education.

I have two more semesters till I obtain my bachelor’s in Psychology.
I want to get into the human resources field and find a job in human resources to work as some type of recruiter or payroll. Would a certificate in human resources management be enough for me to get hired or should I pursue a master’s in human resources management?

If so, how could I go about applying for the job? In other words, how could I let them know that my degree translates well for that job?
Thanks!

I majored in Public Communications in college, and over the past year or so I took a great interest in pursuing a career in HR. I can’t decide, however, if I should strike right out for an HR job or get a Master’s Degree first. My only “fear” about going for a Master’s is my lack of a business degree, which makes me think the material may overwhelm me.

I want to know if it would be better to get a business administration degree and than pursue a masters in HR. Or should I just go for a BA in HR and than a Masters in HR. Im trying to find a combination of degrees that will help me get the upper edge over the other HR competition.

I have a bachelors degree with two concentrations, one in finance and another in marketing. I currently work for a bank at their corp headquarters. I basically hate my job and would really like to get into the HR field. What would be the easiest way to do this? I am thinking I need my masters in it because I have no prior experience. By the way I have been working for two years. Advice please!!?? Thank you.

Background and interests in Human Resources, but can’t decide if Masters degree is too limiting. Should I go for MBA, or a specialty degree Masters degree in H.R.?
