What Master’s Degree Is Recommended To Go Into Human Resources?

A number of people go into HR with MIR degrees (Master of Industrial Relations) – it really depends on what career path you are choosing: employee/industrial relations, organizational development, total rewards, training and talent management, etc. The reality is that in the 21st Century, HR is moving from a tactical to a more strategic role and is a respected partner at the business table. To that end, many also go the MBA or even the LLM.

SPHR – it has to be kept update with ongoing education in the field versus a degree program that does not require continuing education.

Could I Pursue A Job In Human Resources With A Master’s Degree In Foreign Languages And Cultures?

If so, how could I go about applying for the job? In other words, how could I let them know that my degree translates well for that job?
Thanks!

Should I Pursue A Master’s Degree In Human Resources?

I majored in Public Communications in college, and over the past year or so I took a great interest in pursuing a career in HR. I can’t decide, however, if I should strike right out for an HR job or get a Master’s Degree first. My only “fear” about going for a Master’s is my lack of a business degree, which makes me think the material may overwhelm me.
