I had several problems with my job at the Hotel. It was overwelming and very disciminative atmosphere which lead me to a dead end for 8 months…with No raise$ no Breaks while having extended work hrs. My report to Human Resourses for 3 months were ignored with No solution given to me NOT EVEN TO TRANFER ME IN ANOTHER DEPARTMENT when there were several open positions…actually I was forced to work in a very chaotic atmosphere with some trainee managers whom their job was to have 5 breaks to smoke…and midnight seat at Hotel’s bar enjoying them selfs…while I was working to accomplish their uncovered responsibilities.
Trainnee Managers of course QUIT and I my self did the same 2 days after…What should I say to work labor department to convince them that this job was causing me emotional distress? I just want to collect my benefits until I get another full time job…The Hotel’s HR director is trying to sabotage me not to get my Unemployment $$$ cause I quit…+ walked out…!
Personally I kinda hate twilight. I read it when I was about 9 or 10, but now I’m 12. I loved it but now I don’t! Here are my reasons:
1. Bella is such a boring brainless character! She has no personality and I think the reason Edward can’t read her mind is because she doesn’t have one! She is such a Mary Sue character! And it has a very anti feminist feel! For one, Bella can’t do anything without her man! When she’s left without a man, she’s depressed and can’t do anything, then has to get another man in her life, Jacob, to set things right! This is imposing upon young girls that you have to have a man in your life to be able to do anything, and that you cant be the hero for yourself! And that you should sacrifice your own life for a baby! Bella does say once that she wants to be the hero, and wants him to turn into a ‘vampire’, but she’s flatly refused and is told that’she’s already saved him’ Cough Cough! After all these years of trying to get woman an equal status to men, and SM just undoes it all!
2. It’s sooooo cliche!
3. The vampires don’t have fangs! Seriously, that’s not right! Ok, sparkling in the sun, I can deal with that. Not drinking human blood, starting to go a bit far, but NO FANGS! Ugh! She’s making out vampires to be these snuggly, warm, loving creatures, but what happened to Anne Rice!? All her vampires just die out, huh?
4. It’s sooooo cheesy! Seriously, Bella Swan or ‘beautiful swan’! Or ih your sleep ‘you said that you loved me’ or ‘and so the lion fell in the love with the lamb’! SM said herself that that was cheesy! The director of the movie wanted to take that line out and i don’t blame him!
5. The characters and plot are lame and under developed! OK, she comes up with great characters, like Alice, and Rosalie, and they’re just pushed to the side and left to rot and she focuses on boring insecure characters instead! Like at least JK Rowling planned out all her books before she wrote them, but SM just wrote down anything she could think of! And, she didnt even write Twilight from the start! She wrote it from the meadow scene! No wonder half the plot points didn’t add up! Which brings me to my next point-
6. SM is a crap writer! She must have had a **** editor, thats all I can say, cause there’s soooo many glitches and mistakes, in grammar and spelling! Theres no excuse for it! Especially because she got a degree in english literarure! Yeah RIGHT! And vocabulary is sooo bad! How many times does she use the same words over and over and OVER! Hasn’t she ever heard of a thesarus!? Like how many times does she use the word ‘smoulder’ for instance! And sure, she uses lots of big fancy words, but hell, she doesnt even know what they mean! She writes big page long descriptoins of people over and over! Like first, she gives us a long, vague description of all the Cullens, and then all of them get their own page-long description which just goes on and on about every little insignificant detail! But the thing is, instead of using three or four sentences without about 10 adjectives, she could give us a much cleared description with one word, if she just bothered to open a dictionary! There are so many resources open to her, and it seems like she doesn’t even bother!!
7. It’s unhealthy how girls project themselves into the role of Bella, and ten try to act like her, a stupid, clumsy, helpless little girl who need help with everything! The only thing she can do for herself is cook, clean and have babies! Talk about unhealthy
There are so many things I could say here, but I won’t. Please feel free to give me all of your opinions, as I know everybody’s different. I also don’t want this to turn into a full-scale debate about whether Twilight is good or not. In my eyes, it will always be inferior to books like harry Potter, and Interview With the Vampire, but I know that not all people feel like that!
