Over five years ago, I worked for a large company that required full background checks. The HR mgr gave me a copy of my background report. She advised me to investigate if I was a victim of ID theft because the credit history part of my report listed someone’s name who had used my SS#. This individual lived in a state I’d never lived in before.
When I ordered all three of my credit reports, not one of them showed this individual on my credit file. Everything else was accurate except for the person not being listed.
The company I worked for has been out of business for years. The screening company they used provided me with the most detailed information than any of the 3 credit bureaus comprehensive reports. I want to see if I can order my own background check.
Which companies are Human Resource managers using for full screenings?

Lexis/Nexis and Accurint (the best) is what I have used. Unfortunately, you have to work for a company and they will not issue out personal reports to the general public. You can use Abika.com. I have used them in the past to do my own personal check. There really pretty good. Or you can use a private agency (detective/investigative agency) who uses Accurint.
